The most award winning
healthcare information source.
TRUSTED FOR FOUR DECADES.
Looking for resources on nutrition to help in your patient education efforts? If so, there’s a resource as close as your PC.
The Wheat Foods Council, a national non-profit group based in Englewood, CO, launched a Web site on nutrition that focuses on grain foods. Sections of the Grains Nutrition Information Center include:
• frequently asked questions;
• nutrition news;
• serving ideas;
• educational resources;
• illustrations for handouts.
Educational resources are targeted for various age groups. Information can be printed and used for educational purposes as long as it is not altered. One resource, for example, targets seniors and explains the importance of using the Food Guide Pyramid as a dietary guideline.
A short quiz is included so seniors can test their nutrition knowledge.
