The dates for the 2001 Health Care Education Institute sponsored by the Philadelphia-based Health Care Education Association (HCEA) are set for Oct. 4-6. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre located in downtown Chicago. Professionals involved in staff development, patient and community education, management and leadership development, accreditation and compliance issues are encouraged to attend. The theme this year is "Managing the Whirlwind of Health Care Education," and will include sessions on such issues as accreditation, compliance, technology, research, outcomes, management strategies, and leadership skills.
The cost of the conference is $395 for HCEA members and $465 for nonmembers before Sept. 14. After that date, the registration cost to members is $445 and $515 for nonmembers. One-day registration is available for $240 before Sept. 14 and $260 after that date. A pre-conference activity will take place at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Oct. 4 and costs $65.
