“The purpose of the National Patient Safety Goals is to improve patient safety.
The goals focus on problems in health care safety and how to solve them.”
During this program, attendees will learn all The National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) for hospitals and how those goals compare and contrast to CMS standard equivalents. Infection control standards and NPSGs on infection control issues are very important to hospitals and healthcare facilities, as are the goals regarding alarm management. Our experts will provide extensive details on these topics along with TJC's Sentinel Event Alert on alarm fatigue.
As part of this program, our experts will detail proposed changes, catheter-associated urinary tract infections, as well as goals related to anticoagulation, central line-associated infections, and surgical site infections with related tool kits. Attendees will learn about CMS' revised blood transfusion standards and how those compare to NPSG counterparts. Additionally we'll also offer medication reconciliation standards, discuss why CMS now has added this requirement to one of their three hospital worksheets, and recount stories of hospitals that have successfully complied with the NPSGs.
